Fruit Compote ala Cordial Galliano

This is a recipe that my Dad (Joe) worked on for years.  Quite good, with enough booze to get your attention.  Hey, it's got fruit in it so it MUST be good for you!

  • 2 Apples
  • 2 Pears
  • 2 Banannas
  • 2 Oranges
  • 1 Can of peach slices
  • 1 Can of pineapple chunks
  • 1 Canteloupe
  • 1 1/2 ounces Triple Sec
  • 1 1/2 ounces Galliano


1- Dice above fruit into bite size pieces

2- Place in a mixing bowl, add the canned fruit (also cut into small pieces) and the syrup

3- Add the Triple Sec and Galliano

4- Mix well, cover and chill for about 2 hours in the refrigerator.  For a fuller and more even flavor, uncover and stir occasionally before serving.

5- for those of you who don't care about your waist line, serve this over a scoop of natural vanilla ice cream or lemon sorbet.
